Flyswatter Challenge – Rimfire Benchrest

This is a .22 rimfire benchrest match. The popular “Flyswatter Challenge” tests you and your rifle’s accuracy at 50 yards. The official target is available above for download/print if you want to practice.

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT

  1. Most important – have fun
  2. Cost is $10 per target
  3. Shot at 50 yards on rifle range
  4. Must use a rimfire rifle or pistol – LR or Mag ok, .17s are OK too
  5. Any rifle action is allowed including bolt, auto, lever, single shot, etc…
  6. Air Rifles/Pistols are acceptable – this will be a separate class and can win cash but not qualify for the Silver Eagle – .177 or .22 air rifle only
  7. Scopes are encouraged for obvious reasons – recommend at least 10x and more is better for older eyes
  8. This is a benchrest match – bring a rest or use sandbags and be steady
  9. You may want a spotting scope and/or a spotter friend to help you if you can’t see .22 holes at 50 yards with your rifle scope
  10. Shoot as many spotters as you like above the line
  11. When the match starts (will be called by range officer) only fire one shot per fly – only hits count, and you only have 25 shots of record
  12. You MUST have a body shot for it to count as 1 point – no wings or legs
  13. Complete the challenge in 15 minutes
  14. Ties will be broken with a second round
